Sonic 3~Azure City [orchestra]

"meh :\"

date: July 13, 2008

Too many instruments, some of which aren't that harmonious. I don't really feel the Spirit of Sonic in this submission. Maybe if the tempo were faster, and a few of the superflous sounds were taken away.

Kinda like John Williams if he wrote video game music.

Lost in a Lullaby (remastered)

"needs better piano"

date: May 22, 2008

The lower piano keys sounded as though they were being slammed. INstead of the technoey thing coming in around mid-song(dunno what you call it), you should use some chimes or bells instead.

Author's Response:

ok thanks for that!
EDIT: changed some of that "technoey" parts... please rate again

Zero Met Bowser

"Ouch"

submission: Zero Met Bowser
date: May 22, 2008

I didn't like the tempo, regardless of whether or not it was made to match the original. Some bells or something soft would offset the hard techno nicely.

Author's Response:

great! some fine feedback! well, im actually using Megaman Zero's instruments, so to put something soft its hard i guess, and well, i guess any tempo should work anyway, thanks for the comment!

Very original yet traditional. Something not overly common on NG.

Through the Fire&Flames(Piano)

"Amazing"

date: May 22, 2008

Wow, seven minutes and hardly any repetition. I didn't like the whiny part around 1:15. I liked how it crescendo'd at 3:45, that was really nice. My only other complaint is that the instruments don't change much. The piano and keyboard were present throughout the song, although a few kicked in here and there.
As Far as video game remixes go, this is the best, not to trancey or metal, and it is presented in a way that isn't a simple clone of the originsl.

Stand and Bleed

"Clever"

submission: Stand and Bleed
date: May 22, 2008

This reminds me of a couple things. The first is Sonic The Hedgehog. The second I forgot what you call it, but its when you use a bunch of random junk to make sound effects. I don't recognize half the instruments, but its klnd of an interesting arrangement, like caviar and chili.

Solus- For Schala Remastered

"???"

date: May 19, 2008

Wait, was Schala in Chrono Trigger? The song is a bit long and slow, something that would make good ambient music.

Author's Response:

A-yup, she was.

Scarlet Starlight

"diverse"

submission: Scarlet Starlight
date: May 9, 2008

It seems to switch from piano to xylophone around 1:10. I like how you fade other instruments in and out, making it less redundant than most ambient/trance songs.
